Metal rings are better for race cars and other vehicles that get driven harder creating more heat. You will need to know the inner diameter of the center bore on the wheel and the outer diameter of the hub pilot on the vehicle. They do not corrode against the metal of the hub or rim which makes them an ideal solution for most street cars and trucks especially if they operate in a wet climate. Plastic hub centric rings are best for street cars in areas where rain snow and road salt are a concern.

Plastic rings a mix of polycarbonate and abs plastic or just polycarbonate or just abs are the most recommended to use since they won t corrode against the metal of either the rim or the hub. The purpose of the hub centric ring is to fill the empty space between the wheel hub and the center bore of the rim. If aluminum rings are to be used be sure to put a thin coat of copper paste or similar grease before mounting them or you may find it hard to remove. Hub rings stop vibrations caused by a gap between the hub and wheel.
